On Memorial Day Weekend, Roswell, New Mexico was invaded -- but not by aliens. Some of the best teams in flag football descended on Roswell from across the country to compete for $20,000 in cash -- the second largest cash prize awarded in flag football (ZFOOTBALL's $25,000 prize this past February was the largest). Teams came from Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, California, Florida, and other states to take their shot at the money.

The $20,000 prize was distributed among the four top teams, with $12,000 going to first place, $4,800 going to second place, $1,800 to third place, and $1,200 to fourth place. Last year's tournament saw NX Level (Phoenix, AZ), The Franchise (Lubbock, TX), the Amarillo Avalanche (Amarillo, TX), and Da' Coca Cola Bullies (El Paso, TX) finish in the money. A testament to the quality of this year's field, none of these teams finished in the money in the 2006 tournament.

GameTime (Miami, FL) had some close contests on Saturday, but dominated the competition on Sunday, defeating the Rams 28-6 (Fort Worth, TX) in the penultimate game. The Rams were sent down to the Loser's bracket, where they were knocked out by Team Skin (ak Swarm, San Diego, CA) and finished in third place ($1,800).

Team Skin entered the finals needing to defeat GameTime twice in order to claim the grand prize. The fell short in their first attempt, as GameTime cruised to a 23-6 victory, and claimed the title of Hike It & Spike It Roswell Gridiron 4-on-4 Flag Football Tournament Champion, and took home the $12,000 grand prize.

Rounding out the teams finishing in-the-money, the Dallas Rage (Dallas, TX) claimed the fourth place prize, taking home $1,200.
